  Q: Will I pay import duty on my shoes ordered from the UK?

If you live within the European Union, then you should be exempt from import duty placed upon an order from the UK. If you are ordering shoes from the UK - but live outside of the European Union - then it will be difficult to say whether import duties will be imposed. There is certainly a possibility that import duties could be imposed. A good quality courier should contact you before the item is dispatched to state whether any tax, import duty, surcharge is applicable to your order. Your other option is to telephone or email your national customs office to ask them directly.
