Q: How do heel cups function?

  A: updated (15/02/2012)

Heel cups are inserted into the shoe and help provide shock absorption. Most heel cups are made from a lightweight material - usually from rubber or silicone gel - and provide comfort and relief for heel pain. Due to the impact placed upon the cup, they are constructed from long lasting materials, and are designed to be durable. Heel cups can solve numerous health issues, most notable Plantar Fasciitis: where a thick line of tissue runs along the heel and becomes inflamed. For a heel cup to be effective, you may need to remove the insole from your shoe. While heel cups may be durable, if they are used daily, then they will need to be replaced every 12 months.
