  Q: I saw some shoes in continental sizes, what is the UK size ?

You did not mention whether the shoes were for an adult or a child. I will provide a comparison chart for both. It should be remembered that conversion of continental sizes into UK sizes is problematic and imprecise: the charts below simple show the closest continental size for a UK size, not the exact size.
