  Q: Can I use a washing machine to clean my shoes?

It is not recommended to use a washing machine to clean shoes, even if those shoes are manufactured with textile materials. Any guarantee provided by a manufacturer will usually be made void if the shoes have been machine washed. The general advice provided by manufacturers is that using washing machines to clean your shoes will damage and eventually destroy your footwear. Manufacturers only recommend that shoes should be cleaned via professional shoe care products, which are sold by companies such as Timpson, Dasco and Loake.
